Itinerary

Your Safari Summary:

Day 1: Pick up and enjoy a scenic transfer to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary/Ranch and enroute to Murchison falls for an evening hike to the top of the falls

Day 2: Morning Game drive and later afternoon boat trip to the base of the falls.

Day 3: Exit Murchison Falls and transfer to Kibale National Park.

Day 4: Bigodi wetlands excursion & transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

Day 5: Chimp tracking Kalinzu Forest Reserve and an afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel

Day 6: Exit Queen with game drive through Ishasha Sector and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP.

Day 7: gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park for an evening game drive

Day 9: Morning walking safari in the park. Return to Entebbe to catch flight.

  • Day 1: Pick up and enjoy a scenic transfer to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary/Ranch and enroute to Murchison falls for an evening hike to the top of the falls

    Be up early, have breakfast and drive off to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Once there, you will proceed for an hour of on-foot rhino tracking. From the rhino tracking, head to Masindi where you will have a lunch stop. After lunch, embark on the transfer to Murchison Falls NP. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of the Murchison, the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park where you will have the chance of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants. Then surely, the concentration of hippos and the Nile crocodiles here will fascinate you. If interested and time allows, you can proceed for a late afternoon-evening game drive.

  • Day 2: Morning Game drive and later afternoon boat trip to the base of the falls.

    Have your breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park and be on the look for wildlife including: lions, leopards (though hard to spot) among others. For any birder, there are quite a number of birds to sight too during the drive. Return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls where you will also be able to catch sight of more animals including Hippos and Crocodiles and several water birds. #Optional (extra cost): If interested, continue with a hike to the top of the falls. The hike may be a strenuous one but the thrill on reaching the top is unforgettable. Return to your accommodation and relax.

  • Day 3: Exit Murchison Falls and transfer to Kibale National Park.

    Today, you will have breakfast and then, depart right away for Kibale Forest National Park – popular for its primates like the chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, Uganda mangabey. The drive is quite long but incredibly scenic – passing through villages, lush green countryside and hills dotted with tea plantations that characterize this part of Uganda. The beautiful scenery will amaze you all the way. Upon arrival at the accommodation, check in and just relax.

  • Day 4: Bigodi wetlands excursion & transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP

    Have breakfast and move out for the Bigodi Wetland excursion. The Bigodi boasts of an extensive array of bio-diversity including a number of primates and birds. You will return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter you will head out for Queen Elizabeth National Park. #Optional (no cost): If interested, you may go for a brief afternoon-evening game drive before heading to the lodge. Alternatively, you may consider the explosion crater drive if you love scenery sightings.

  • Day 5: Chimp tracking Kalinzu Forest Reserve and an afternoon boat trip on the Kazinga Channel

    Be up early, have breakfast and drive out to the nearby Kalinzu Forest Reserve. The Forest is home to habituated Chimpanzees plus other primates including baboons, monkeys and also bird species. Today, you will spend the early part of the day tracking chimpanzees here. Thereafter, return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, the sight of wildlife including giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others will fascinate you. You will also see many varieties of birds at the water shores. You will have dinner and overnight at your accommodation.

  • Day 6: Exit Queen with game drive through Ishasha Sector and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable NP.

    After breakfast, check out of the accommodation and start the journey to Bwindi Impenetrable NP. As you exit queen Elizabeth NP enjoy a game drive through the Ishasha sector where the biggest attraction is the tree climbing lions among other game. The chance of spotting these is always high as they have turned these to homes. Continue out to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the home of the half of the world’s remaining mountain Gorilla population. upon arrival at the lodge, check in and gain some energy for the slightly strenuous trekking activity the next day.

  • Day 7: gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation

    Wake up early and make your way to the assembling point to undertake the short briefing on the dos and don'ts of Gorilla trekking. The UWA guide will explain more about the forest and the activity then embark on the search for the gorillas through the sheer beauty of a natural forest filled with different species of birds and other forest animals. once you have located the majestic gorillas ensure to enjoy the memorable time with them as instructed. After, head on back to the lodge for a hot lunch and head on down to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

  • Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park for an evening game drive

    Enjoy an early morning breakfast, check out of the accommodation and embark on your journey to lake Mburo National Park. Located in the western part of Uganda, Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest of the savannah based National parks in Uganda and derives its name from lake Mburo; which is one of the main lakes in the park of the over 13 lakes with in. The park is blessed with a number of game with some only limited to it such as the eland and some zebra. It also has impala, Giraffes, leopards (Rare to Spot), buffaloes, and many more animals within it. On reaching this park you will check in and enjoy lunch then set off to the park for the afternoon game drive in an effort to spot these animals. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

  • Day 9: Morning walking safari in the park. Return to Entebbe to catch flight.

    Wake up to an early breakfast and proceed to meet your Armed UWA ranger guide designated to take you through the morning Bush/nature walk. Lake Mburo is believed to be predator free and hence the allowance for nature walks in the park. This activity provides the opportunity for you to watch game such as Zebras, Impala, antelopes and hyena at close range as they return to their dens for rest after a night of scavenging. Exit lake Mburo NP and head on to Kampala. Along the way pass by the Uganda Equator for a memorable photo moment and also a very educative session with experiments performed at the line that separates the earth into northern and southern Hemisphere. You get the unique opportunity to enjoy both Hemispheres at this site. Continue to Kampala with en-route lunch and other sightings.
