5 Day Short Holiday with Gorilla & Kalinzu Chimpanzee Trekking.

Brief of Activities: Boat Cruises on the Nile & the Kazinga Channel, Game Drives in Uganda’s wildest National parks (Queen Elizabeth), Chimpanzee and Gorilla Sighting and Scenic views of Lake Bunyonyi.

Itinerary

Your Safari Summary:

Day 1: Arrive Entebbe Airport, pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Encounter in Kalinzu Forest and afternoon for a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel.

Day 3: Morning game drive. and transfer to Bwindi.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking Bwindi Forest and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

Day 5: Exit Bunyonyi and return to Entebbe Airport to catch flight out.

Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport, transfer to booked hotel.

On arrival at the Pearl of Africa, you shall be welcomed by our guide at Entebbe International Airport from where you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of the most visited parks in Uganda to encounter Uganda Kobs, elephants, warthogs, Giant Forest hogs, Cape buffaloes, spotted hyenas and big cats like leopards, lions, and serval cats. The drive will take you across the equator landmark with an en-route stop at the Equator Landmark to observe a water experiment and to take a memorial photo with one leg standing in the northern and another one in the southern hemisphere. Then proceed with your drive through farms of the incredible Ankole cattle and local people working on their plantation. Have another en-route stop in Mbarara city to have lunch. Later continue to the park for overnight.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Encounter in Kalinzu Forest and afternoon for a boat trip along the Kazinga Channel.

After an early breakfast in preparation for serious primate this morning to Kalinzu Forest Reserve for chimpanzee trekking. Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve is an incredible place is teeming with life - over 6 primate species, hundreds of bird varieties, 414 tree species and a dazzling array of butterflies. You will finally come face-to-face with a chimpanzee family! Spending an hour observing them groom their young, forage for food, and swing through the trees was an unforgettable experience. After Chimp trekking return to the lodge for lunch or in the event of a packed lunch proceed to exit Kibale and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for the 2-hour afternoon boat ride along the Kazinga Channel. This channel connects Lakes George and Lake Edward. The boat trip will be guided by a Uganda wildlife authority guide to help sight wildlife including giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles along the banks of the river. After the Boat ride return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi.

Have an early breakfast in preparation for serious primate business this morning. Make your way to the briefing point to get the chimp trekking rules and regulations in order to keep you secure then head off to find our distant cousins in the forest with the guidance of a guide. After they have been located, ensure to enjoy the hour with them and after make your way back to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. After lunch or in the event of a packed lunch proceed to exit Kibale and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. If the time allows enjoy an evening game drive upon arrival at the park or check into your lodge and relax as you await dinner.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking Bwindi Forest and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

Wake up early and make your way to the assembling point to undertake the short briefing on the dos and don'ts of Gorilla trekking. The UWA guide will explain more about the forest and the activity then embark on the search for the gorillas through the sheer beauty of a natural forest filled with different species of birds and other forest animals. Once you have located the majestic gorillas ensure to enjoy the memorable time with them as instructed. After, head on back to the lodge for a hot lunch and head on down to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.

Day 5: Exit Bunyonyi and return to Entebbe Airport to catch flight out.
