Visa Validity: This single-entry visa can be granted for up to 3 months, but there’s a catch. The Visa Approval Authorisation is valid for 90 days (three months) from the day of approval. It’s crucial to plan your travel within this timeframe to avoid any inconveniences.

You can conveniently apply for your Uganda Tourist Visa online through the Immigration portal, ensuring a hassle-free and time-efficient application process.

Requirements for Different Purposes

Depending on your purpose of travel, you’ll need to gather specific documents and meet certain requirements:

a) Tourism

Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity

i. Tour plan

ii. Travel itinerary/booking

iii. Recent passport-size photograph

iv. Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate

v. Hotel booking or reservation (if applicable)

b) Business (meetings, conferences)

i. Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity

ii. Letter of invitation with clear address and business purpose in Uganda

iii. Recent passport-size photograph

iv. Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate

v. Immigration status of the host (if applicable)

c) Studies

i. Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity

ii. Letter of invitation from the school

iii. Recent passport size photograph

iv. Admission letter from the school

v. Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate

vi. Status of host in Uganda (if applicable)

d) Family Visit

i. Passport copy (bio-data page) with at least 6 months validity

ii. Letter of invitation

iii. Immigration status of the host

iv. Recent passport-size photograph

v. Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate

vi. Hotel booking or reservation (if applicable)

vii. Status of host in Uganda (if applicable)

Visa Fees and Payment

The Uganda Tourist Visa costs USD 50, and it’s important to note that visa fees are non-refundable. Additionally, be aware that all payments are subject to a bank charge.

 Application Process

Follow these steps to complete your visa application:

 Log into the Immigration Portal and select “start new application.”

Accept the displayed terms and conditions.

Choose the visa or permit type, category, and subcategory.

Fill out the application form.

Upload the required documents; a unique six-digit application ID will be generated as your reference number.

Make the necessary payment for applications that require prepayment.

Upon approval, an approval letter will be generated and emailed to you if no top-up payment is required.

For applications that require a top-up payment, make the payment after approval to receive your approval letter.

Finally, report to the immigration office/border with all uploaded documents, payment receipts, approval letter, and your passport for biometric capture.

Visa Renewal

If you wish to extend your stay beyond the initial period granted at entry, you can do so for another 60 days in two intervals. Renewal can be done online or manually at the Headquarters and the Regional Immigration offices.

 Visa Exempt Countries
